Same (RH9.0 + Python 2.3.4). It is OK on my home PC (Gentoo 1.4 +Python 2.3.4). I'll try your advice when I'll back at work.

I tried this and it worked fine for me under RH9.0 and Python-2.3.4 and also under Windows 2000 pro. I suggest deleting your entire numarray directory from site-packages and then re-installing. Also, what's your platform and shell?
