Hi, I'm pleased to announce the availability of the first release candidate of Pandas 0.14.0. Please try this RC and report any issues here: Pandas Issues<https://github.com/pydata/pandas/issues> We will be releasing officially in about 2 weeks or so. This is a major release from 0.13.1 and includes a small number of API changes, several new features, enhancements, and performance improvements along with a large number of bug fixes. Highlights include: - Officially support Python 3.4 - SQL interfaces updated to use sqlalchemy, - Display interface changes - MultiIndexing Using Slicers - Ability to join a singly-indexed DataFrame with a multi-indexed DataFrame - More consistency in groupby results and more flexible groupby specifications - Holiday calendars are now supported in CustomBusinessDay - Several improvements in plotting functions, including: hexbin, area and pie plots. - Performance doc section on I/O operations Since there are some significant changes in the default way DataFrames are displayed. This release includes a small number of API changes, several new features, enhancements, and performance improvements along with a large number of bug fixes. This was 4 months of work with 1014 commits by 121 authors encompassing 757 issues. Help QA'ing / fixing code examples in "Python for Data Analysis" with new pandas 0.14 release

hi everyone, Would someone (or a couple people) on the dev team have the time to do a once over of the code examples in the book to see if any need revising given API / behavior changes and bug fixes between pandas 0.9 and 0.14? I can help out with providing the code snippets in a big Python script (or one script per chapter) to make the process a little less painful. Have budget to compensate whoever does this for their time -- I will be involved but I don't have the bandwidth to commit to doing it within the next few weeks (they're itching to get a printing out with errata fixed -- I also need to rewrite the part about environment setup). I estimate it will take 10-20 hours but hard to say for sure. - Wes
