Hello everyone! Welcome to the PewPew mailing list! I hope that we can all have a good time here, and help each other with our PewPew-based devices. I would like to encourage you to post any questions you might have, any projects you might be doing, and any suggestions for the future. Since we are being hosted by the official Python community, all the rules of that community and the code of conduct apply, so please be nice to each other. A little bit of formalities. For those readers who might not know, PewPews are electronic gadgets with 8x8 displays and 6 buttons designed for making simple games in Python. There is a FeatherWing and there are standalone devices. So far they have all been shaped like small hand-help game consoles, though I can imagine it's possible to make something like an arcade cabinet as well. Both the designs and all the code are released under a permissive license (Creative Commons Attribution-Share-Alike), so that they can be used and reused freely. My personal goal in making of those devices is to have something that can be easily used for organizing game-making workshops. Something that is cheap and doesn't require the participants to install anything on their computers or have Internet access. But of course others might have different goals. A bunch of links: * Project logs: * for the FeatherWing: https://hackaday.io/project/21578-pewpew-featherwing * for the standalone: https://hackaday.io/project/159733-pewpew-standalone * Documentation: http://pewpew.rtfd.io * Designs and code: http://github.com/pewpew-game * Compiled firmware: https://circuitpython.org/board/pewpew10/ * Shop: https://www.tindie.com/stores/deshipu/ I will try to post here about any new developments related to the project. There is one such a news post coming soon. I will also write about my plans for the nearest future. Regards, -- Radomir Dopieralski
