Understanding 1-D barycenters in 1-D

Hello, I am using the following modified code from the tutorial examples/plot_barycenter_1D.py. I have just modified it to compute barycenters between bimodal 1-D distributions. I expected to see the barycenter to also contain only two peaks however it contains 3 which is not very intuitive geometrically speaking . Hi, Thanks for a great tool box. In the example as well in documentation – the method ot.bregman.barycenter(A,M..) calculates the entropic regularized wasserstein barycenter of distributions A where each column of A is considered a distribution implying – that it computes Barycenters for 1-D distributions. Missing C library dependencies in pip installation?

Hi, In the past, I have been able to successfully install the POT package using the conda installation tool, but now I'm trying to install the POT package in a cloud environment which doesn't allow me to use that. I tried using "pip install" but it seems to be crashing because the C-library dependencies are missing. Below is the full error message. Has somebody else encountered this problem? Is there a way to force certain matches in pot?

Hello again, Thanks for addressing my questions about using pot for large matrices, it works beautifully! Now, I have a situation in which I want to force certain matches to happen (namely, I want to ensure that certain positions in the output matrix have a specific, non-zero value). Do you think there's a way to use pot for this case? Thanks, -Vanessa

ot.emd limitations on matrix size

Hi, I'm trying to use the ot.emd function to solve for a 3000 x 5000 transportation problem, but I get all zeros for the solution. It works if I take a subset of, say, 1000 x 1000. Do anybody know what are the matrix size limitations for this function? Is it expected to handle matrices of these sizes? Thanks, Vanessa
