Style guide for Python Success Stories
Hi Katie and Jannis! We want to revive Success Stories (https://www.python.org/success-stories/), especially since this is a great way for sponsors to promote what they are doing or have done with Python. We haven't received any interest in these in a long while. I am assuming one of the reasons is because it is an overwhelming task and we currently don't have any guidelines on how to write one up! In hopes of making it less daunting for sponsors, Betsy & I created this draft style guide https://docs.google.com/document/d/146fyYjilXSAkOFRoFycZpZY_UWUHVhGkYSsuenb4... . - Something you will notice in the draft is our idea to involve the bloggers. My hope is that we can ask bloggers to help sponsors scope content and review drafts. Hi all This style guide looks great. The blogger fee also properly shows the scope of this work; from what I've seen the CSA posts are more crafting together quotes, but this success story would be more work, hence the bigger payment. No notes on the style guide, it all seems great. I would maybe want to put something in writing about the timeliness of sponsored posts should a sponsor discontinue their sponsorship. "Posts will remain while you continue to be a sponsor". That's a good point, we need to address it. We have it listed as "Case Study" on the new sponsorship program. (consistent terminology would help!)

Both amounts seem sensible to me, how do you feel about making the market rate review a yearly thing?

Totally agreed that we need help there and it would diversify the tasks for “bloggers”. In fact, given this effort I’d like to suggest starting to calling them “authors” or “writers” in our recruitment efforts to increase the chance to find people that like to write for us. Blogging is ultimately just one form how we publish content and the case studies could be the first other form we ask 3rd parties to help?

I’ve been wondering if we should start offering multilingual content as well to cater to some of the larger sub-communities, e.g. Spanish?
