No worries. That's for the PSF to take a view on. I merely commented on my own experience of the list.

I'm sure you remember many times in the past when what seemed like a great idea would be floated within the Foundation membership, supported enthusiastically, then wither and die on the vine.

That's a fairly healthy sign - many new initiatives, most of which are not expected or required to "succeed" but which will leave ripples in the pond.

Sadly, this one appears to be sinking like a stone.

I suspect this is because many of those who joined don't feel empowered to post to the list. So the best thing this white male can do is get out of the way.

Since we do believe in the PSF community, we also believe that such
announcements should be sent to this group and, personally, I'd love
to see lots more coming from all kinds of Python events, projects,
etc. A community has to be filled with life, lots of opinions,
discussions and buzz.

If the majority believes that this is not what this mailing list
about, I can remove it from the list of MLs we distribute
announcements to.
