Hi David and Ewa, Thanks for the quick response, you are awesome! And it looks like I got two responses! Just to summarize: - There will be a 6'x30" table on stage that will be moved up to the podium just before my talk.- I will come to A109 around 4pm on Thursday to unpack and test, then move the setup to A103 for storage- I will get the setup from A103 and carry to the stage during lunch on Friday Answers to David's questions:
1) Will you need audio from your computer? (I suspect not, but to double check)Correct, no audio. 2) The lighting on stage is decent but harsh. If you can, it might be a good idea to bring along a reading lamp type light to clip to the podium or table if there are small details you want to make sure the audience can see from the webcam.Interesting, I wasn't accounting for that. I'll see what I can do.

[clipped for brevity]
Here are my logistics questions:
- Can you tell me where exactly this will be placed during the talk? Table/floor, left side/right side? This would help me bring the right cable lengths and figure out camera positioning (tripod, etc).> The podium will be in the middle of the riser so it is up to you where
the table is placed.>
- Will audience members in the first row be able to see the demo system or will they sit below the podium or too far away to see? Not super critical, but if they are close enough I can put in some extra effort to make things more visible for them.>
You will be on a riser so they will not see other than what your camera projects.>
- At what time will I be able to move this to the presentation room? I could carry it in just before my talk, but moving it in before the session might be easier.>
I suggest bringing it into the ballroom during lunch on Friday. Set it up and leave it on the 6'x30" table on stage. Right when your talk begins, the table will be moved up front by the podium. We will have a power drop for you.>
- Can I bring this to the convention center on Thursday to unpack and test, and leave there overnight until Friday? If yes, what time should I show up?>
Yes, you can do it in the PyCon Speaker Room A109. You can leave it in there overnight. The room will be open until about 6pm when I leave for the day. I suggest coming at 4 on Thursday May 18. It is best to store it across the hall in the PyCon Staff Room A103 as Friday morning the speaker ready room will be busy with speakers and session staff. I will be in A103 so come see me when you are ready to store it.>>>
Also, a few questions about the podium setup:
- Is there a clip on/headset style microphone or only a fixed one at the podium?> You will have a headset mic
- Is it ok to move back and forth from podium to the demo table or does that mess up the video recording? I could minimize the moving around if necessary, but the will be some.> Fine to move.
- I plan to have a live video feed from a webcam on my screen for portions of the talk (so that everyone can see the demo). No question here, just an FYI because I know some AV engineers appreciate a heads up before projecting video.> I have informed our AV crew and they are OK with this.
