Fwd: Some final logistical bits for PyCon 2016

Hi David and Julia, FYI - Brandon has reached out to each keynoters and asked them to meet him in room C122 prior to their talk. Just wanting to make sure you both are aware of the arrangements. See email below. Best regards, Ewa Director of Operations Python Software Foundation Cell: 415-319-5237 ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Brandon Rhodes <pycon.brandon@gmail.com> Date: Tue, May 24, 2016 at 11:25 AM Subject: Some final logistical bits for PyCon 2016 To: Cris Ewing <cris@crisewing.com> Cc: Ewa Jodlowska <ewa@python.org> Good morning, Cris — I can hardly believe it, but PyCon 2016 is almost upon us! Here are a few notes regarding logistics: - Both Ewa and I are arriving in Portland within the next day or two, and will be available to help you with any snags. If you need anything during your stay, please do not hesitate to text or call either me (404-704-6376) or Ewa (415-319-5237). - As early as Friday afternoon you can visit our registration desk at the Oregon Convention Center to claim your badge and *pick up your free transit pass* that works on Portland’s light rail, commuter rail, buses, and streetcars! Registration is open 2pm–6pm Friday and 7am–6pm on Saturday and Sunday and the main conference days. - On the big morning, let’s plan to *meet in the Green Room (C122) at 8:40am Wednesday* — that should give us enough time to test our laptops with a projector before we are escorted over to the plenary session. - Please feel free to visit the Green Room (C122) as often as you want during the conference! As a speaker, you are welcome to any refreshments there, and are welcome to use the room to get work done. - Our CART transcription service has a request. Do you have any draft notes or slides that we could send them today, so your transcriber can be learning any specialized vocabulary words ahead of time? It would reduce the chance of a rare or technical word appearing mangled on the live transcription screen as you talk. See you in Portland! -- Brandon Rhodes PyCon 2016 Conference Chair pycon.brandon@gmail.com
