Hello open spaces crew, Ewa needs decisions by March 15 for open spaces board, slides for the slide roll before each talk, and program/schedule suggestions. So Anna, Haley, Katia: I'd love your input on the below ASAP since we only have a couple days. Ernest said he can make our open spaces board photo page atus.pycon.org/os and he might be able to do it at pycon.us/os. We need to decide on one of those URLs. Here are my suggestions: 1. The open spaces board should include some large text noting that the board can be viewed on your phone also. I'm proposing: phone! See this board at http://us.pycon.org/os 2. The slide roll before each talk should include a slide about seeing the open spaces from your phone:
Did you know you can take a look at the open spaces board from your phone or laptop this year?> Visit http://us.pycon.org/os to see what the board looks like now.> Find the open spaces board near the reg table to host your own open space.
By the way, you should really try attending or planning an open space if you've never been!
Open spaces board near registration> Or visit http://us.pycon.org/os to see
3. Printed program: Open space rooms and time blocks listed in the schedule and printed program with a big overlay on top of the room/time grid that says: the board I realize this might be a hard sell space-wise in the program. Ewa & Jackie, I'd love to hear your thoughts on whether this is possible. I can't remember what we did in the program the last couple years. Anywhere I'm missing putting the URL?Anything above that you think should change (wording, messaging, otherwise)?Anything else we're missing that we'll wish we hadn't overlooked in a week? Hello, I have a suggestion for bullet number 2, It seems to me that there are two very different messages there. One about the OS board in the phone (for people that know what they are) and the other about inviting people to attend/host. For the second text, a shorter url could help.
Did you know you can check on the spaces board from your phone or laptop? Visit http://us.pycon.org/os to see what's next.
Don't know what open spaces are? Go to https://us.pycon.org/2019/events/open-spaces/ Find the board near the registration table and join us!

Hi Ewa and Katia, I didn't receive Katia's email. I'm not sure whether I was removed from the open spaces mailing list or what's going on. Ewa and Katia: were there other emails in that thread? I didn't see anything until Ewa's email. I think listing the long URL might be a bit much for the slides. Maybe we can add a link to the us.pycon.org/os page that explains what they are (probably the events page we already have)? What do you think of that Katia? Hello Trey, I wondered why nobody replied. I didnt received any other mails aside yours and Ewa's. I think the shorter URL is better as long as we can add the "FAQs" that are in the pycon page. That would help with clarifying what the OS dynamic is and how people can participate. I have no additional feedback. Everything else you wrote is fine by me. Thank you, Katia On Fri, Mar 15, 2019 at 2:38 PM Trey Hunner <trey@truthful.technology> wrote:

I don't think so. I'm not sure we'll do the Twitter bot this year. I think we'll be overwhelmed enough on-site managing the photos that ensuring the Twitter bot works as expected might be a bit much. We might want to drop the hashtag too, but that one I'm less certain about. Anyone have objections to dropping the copy about the Twitter bot (and many also the hashtag) this year? Ewa needs decisions by March 15 for open spaces board, slides for the slide roll before each talk, and program/schedule suggestions.
So Anna, Haley, Katia: I'd love your input on the below ASAP since we only have a couple days.
Ernest said he can make our open spaces board photo page at us.pycon.org/os <http://us.pycon.org/os> and he might be able to do it at pycon.us/os <http://pycon.us/os>. We need to decide on one of those URLs.
Here are my suggestions:
1. The open spaces board should include some large text noting that the board can be viewed on your phone also. I'm proposing:
Want to see the board on-the-go? You can see the open spaces board on your phone! See this board at http://us.pycon.org/os <http://us.pycon.org/os>
2. The slide roll before each talk should include a slide about seeing the open spaces from your phone:
Did you know you can take a look at the open spaces board from your phone or laptop this year? Visit http://us.pycon.org/os <http://us.pycon.org/os> to see what the board looks like now. Find the open spaces board near the reg table to host your own open space.
By the way, you should really try attending or planning an open space if you've never been!
The above is fine.
Do we want to mention the twitter bot anywhere on the board like we did last year?
3. Printed program:
Open space rooms and time blocks listed in the schedule and printed program with a big overlay on top of the room/time grid that says:
Open spaces board near registration Or visit http://us.pycon.org/os <http://us.pycon.org/os> to see the board
I realize this might be a hard sell space-wise in the program. Ewa & Jackie, I'd love to hear your thoughts on whether this is possible. I can't remember what we did in the program the last couple years.
I don't know yet - the program is still being worked on.

Ewa: yes that wording looks good to me. If it's not too late, if you can change the URL everywhere (and you're fine with this change) to http://pycon.us/os I think that would be preferable.
