Speaker confirmations sent

Greetings I've finished sending confirmation emails to speakers. Two last minute changes: * I added a talk from David Campey on migrating a development team from .Net to Python * Bryn Divey volunteered to be our back-up speaker (in case an important speaker gets a stomach bug) Aiming to have the schedule up on the website early next week. Confirming speakers

Greetings I want to send confirmations to all the speakers on the schedule this evening. There are two last minute changes: - Hedley's would like to make his Jmbo tutorial a talk instead. - We've been offered a talk by Bryn Divey on creating RESTful service-orientated architectures with twisted. I can fit those in if we make Bradley Whittington and Laurens Van Houtven's talks non-keynote/plenary talks. People happy with that? Greetings I've just finished heavily updating the draft schedule and speaker status spreadsheet. Schedule: * is full (although we have a day or so to decide to bump talks out if we want) * has something close to the correct structure, I think. * needs work to fine-tune the placement of talks (suggestions appreciated) Status document: * listing all speakers I've also: * Uploaded all the talk information I have into the pyconza site database so it's ready for populating the schedule on the site. * Chased all the speakers who haven't uploaded talks yet. A big thank you to Adrianna for proof-reading all the submissions for me and fixing many talk title capitalizations. Schiavo Simon

Draft schedule up

Greetings The draft schedule is up at https://docs.google.com/a/praekeltfoundation.org/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArtGE… . Now is the time to give feedback. There's still quite a lot of work to be done to firm up the draft and confirm everything with the speakers. Thank you Jeremy, Neil, Adrianna and Maciej for helping me hash it out on Saturday. Notes: * Gustav: We'd like you to give an example of a lightning talk so people know what the format is like. Probably during the opening. Maybe we should get some of the other sponsors to do one too. Ideally should just be fun and inspiring. * We're a little short on scientific talks that cover numpy and scipy. I'm hitting people up for them but assistance with that would be helpful. * We're short a proper talk on Django and web talks in general (I'm trying to get Alex and maybe St James Software to give a talk). * There are potentially about ten talk slots still available. * All the organizers should wear funny hats so they're easily identifiable (although Wendy is getting shirts made for them). Hi Would it be any useful if I prepare some materials for speakers aka stuff that's on pycon US? Also I can do some briefing before the actual conference (like Monday during registration or so) We should also have session chairs have usb sticks to get presentation materials from speakers just after their talk. I'm not a great speaker, but I'm still very good in theory :) Cheers, fijal
