1. Lightning Talk. Happy to oblige. Have we finalised what the format is?
No. :) The PyCon US 2012 lightning talks were 5 minutes long with 4 or 5 slides per talk. That gives us 9 talks in 45 minutes.
2. Django. That really is a glaring omission. A lot of the attendees will be either planning to use it or actively using it, I would think at least an advanced and intermediate/beginner level talk would be useful (or maybe a have a beginner tutorial?
If we don't get Alex Gaynor we'll definitely need to get someone to fill that dap.
3. Mobile. Do we have no potential talks on mobile development, especially on Android. I know Python isn't heavily used in this arena, but given the importance/relevance in Africa would be great to have a specific talk around that? Where google not interested in maybe doing this?
Google have promised me a talk on Python on Android but I haven't got a speaker's name from them yet.
4. The two SKA back-to-back talks look a bit weird, any particular reason for scheduling them together?
It seemed like they would fit thematically but there wasn't a super strong reason.
5. Twisted or Gevent. Do we not have someone who can talk about event-driven stuff (given the interest level in node.js especially).
This is definitely a gap I'd like to cover. I've prodded the Vumi team a bit. Other suggestions of local Twisted devs I could prod welcomed. Schiavo Simon
