Hi Jacob, I now see this header on wiki.python.org: This is a static archive of the Python wiki, which was retired in February 2026 due to lack of usage and the resources necessary to serve it — predominately to bots, crawlers, and LLM companies. Pages are preserved as they were at the time of archival. For current information, please visitpython.org <https://www.python.org/>. If a change to this archive is absolutely needed, requests can be made via theinfrastructure(a)python.orgmailing list. Could you please explain when, why and by whom this decision was made without first consulting the group maintaining the wiki (that's pydotorg-www and myself) ? You may not be aware, but the wiki is still in active use and referenced a lot around the web. Also note that the archiving broke pretty much *all* links to the wiki, since it added ".html" to the pages. I use it for the Python events calendars. The submitting events link no longer works: https://wiki.python.org/moin/PythonEventsCalendar#Submitting_an_Event and I can no longer manage the page showing the group members. Requesting Edit Permission - Python for New Programmers

Hello, My name is Joseph Apatow (wiki name: JosephApatow) and I'm writing to get permission to edit the following page: https://wiki.python.org/moin/BeginnersGuide/NonProgrammers I would like to add a resource to this page under Interactive Courses. The resource I want to add is our learning platform, Boot.dev. Boot.dev is an interactive, self-paced, online learning platform that uses game mechanics to teach back-end web development, including a dedicated Python course. All of our content is free to read, while we charge a subscription fee for the premium interactive features like earning XP, achievements, etc. The first few chapters allow you to test drive the interactive features for free, which we recommend for all new students.
