Hi,
*· **Tarek Ziade' **was awarded in recognition of his hard work on getting Python packaging back on track, maintaining distutils, forking setuptools into distribute, and working on a new package manager called pip. *
The last item is not true: Tarek is not the author (that’s Ian Bicking) nor one of the current maintainers. The item should however mention that Tarek forked distutils as distutils2 and started a new package manager inside distutils2: pysetup. This will be the first package manager to ship with standard Python (in 3.3). Cheers
Hi Eric: Does the last item refer to Tarek as the author or that he is a current maintainer? Thanks, Pat On Fri, Oct 7, 2011 at 12:10 PM, Éric Araujo <merwok@netwok.org> wrote:

Hi Pam,
Does the last item refer to Tarek as the author or that he is a current maintainer?
When I read “working on a new package manager called pip”, I infer that he was the primary author or a prominent contributor, which he isn’t (see https://github.com/pypa/pip/contributors). Tarek deserves credit, but not for pip :) Cheers
Hi Tarek: Could you please help us by provide feedback on the "wording" that was/is associated with your award and attributed to your "work." Should other wording be used or not? If so, what would you suggest? Your feedback would be appreciated in order for us to move forward here? Hi Eric: Thanks for your input. Pat 2011/10/8 Éric Araujo <merwok@netwok.org>

Hi Eric & pydotorg: Please feel free to leave the part that refers to pip out. We can update it at a later point in time. However, thanks for your attention to details. And, I would like to get the 2011 winners posted online. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Pat 2011/10/8 Éric Araujo <merwok@netwok.org>
