Fred might also want to join the pydotorg-www list, which I've copied on this reply, because while webmaster mostly handles questions about existing content, our friends on pydotorg-www are more active in maintaining the content. There doesn't currently seem to be much of a "funnel" directing people towards contributing the python.org, so I just wanted to underline that we really DO need help and new blood, so your approach is more than welcome. This is not an easy problem to solve, because:

* You don’t want to have to “clean up” all the data entered to date * Some jobs do list multiple locations.

I would be happy to fix this for you, given sufficient source code access. Of course since I’m new to PSF, I would expect to submit my changes to a more experienced member for inclusion in the system.

Hi, Fred. I suspect the jobs board group would welcome extra help. Some years ago when I was volunteering over there it was chronically short of people to keep up to date with things. But it's a separate group than this one - send your message to jobs@python.org.

If you do get involved... I've tried to convince them that adding the capability to show jobs which had a possibility of remote work would be a real help. Now I'm looking for work, it's a pain to read the teaser on the front, click through, scroll down reading, only to *eventually* come across the section "restrictions", which as far as I can tell *always* says no telecommute. I haven't yet found one that doesn't, so every look at the jobs board in the past year has been a complete waste of my time. In fact the last time someone emailed us here at webmaster about the jobs board it was an in-house recruiter who was scrambling to get his listing changed to say no telecommute, because he hadn't ticked that box and his employers got very upset.
