Hi everyone,
These have been strange times for all of us. The Pyninsula meetup organizers take health and safety seriously, and we wanted to clarify what our plans are regarding in-person meetups. I love seeing people in person! Part of our commitment to inclusion is to make sure that everyone can come to a meetup where they are, and feel, safe.
Our guidelines are:
* We commit to comply with all government guidance. We will make sure we understand and can follow all relevant guidance from the Federal authorities, California government, and the San Mateo and Santa Clara counties (since our meetups are often in both).
* We commit to follow any relevant Python Software Foundation guidance. As part of the PSF meetup umbrella, we will make sure to follow any guidance the PSF gives.
* As a last check, we understand that as organizers, we have a responsibility to keep you safe. If we feel that under the circumstances, we cannot organize a safe meetup, we will not do so. All three of us, Mark, Mahmoud, and I, will discuss and make sure we are all comfortable with this decision. While we are not public health experts, we are adding this final "gut check" constraint to make sure that we apply our local knowledge and understanding of the community before opening
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us on e-mail or discord if you have any questions.
