github.com/pypa is now on a (free) enterprise plan

Hi folks! Thanks to an introduction by William Woodruff, I have had a few discussions with folks at GitHub about our GitHub Actions queue size limits. As a result of those discussions, the pypa organisation is now on a free Enterprise plan. This has multiple features unlocking for us, including an increase in GitHub Action usage limits vs the team plan: - Total concurrent jobs: 60 to 1000 - Maximum concurrent macOS jobs: 5 to 50 They also mentioned that they'd like to have a chat early next year:
it would be amazing to speak in the new year to help best plan out your org structure to get you the support you need
If someone from the PSF staff would want to attend this meeting, please let me know! Likewise, if there's anything that folks think is worth discussing with them, let me know. Best, Pradyun

Hi Pradyun, GitHub recently announced the availability of arm64 runners for Linux & Windows: https://github.blog/changelog/2024-06-03-actions-arm-based-linux-and-windows... Those should be available for the enterprise plan however, I doubt they're free to use for now (this might come before the end of the year - or not, unclear in the blog post linked above). If you're still in contact with folks at GitHub, would it be possible to reach out to them in order to know if it would be possible to use those new runners ahead of the schedule for free availability ? This would help with packaging manylinux images (https://github.com/pypa/manylinux/issues/1619) but also would allow us to test cibuildwheel on those runners before getting reports that there's something wrong on those. If they agree, it will require the pypa org admins to setup those runners for use by the repos that need them (c.f. https://docs.github.com/en/actions/using-github-hosted-runners/about-larger-...). Thanks in advance for your help, Matthieu
