Trouble building pypy

I've been trying on-and-off to build PyPy for a few days now, and keep running into various issues. I was hoping someone on the list could give me some pointers as to what I'm doing wrong. I'm working on an i7 iMac, latest Snow Leopard with 12GB of RAM. I used the official 1.5 release to try to build revision 2650f0a670c0. Potential PyPy incompatibility

Hey, Here's something I thought about that might be a compatibility problem, not sure if it's a problem in production. When you take a method of a builtin in Pypy, for example `str.join`, it seems to create a new object which is weakreffable, where in CPython it's not. Executable stack of pypy-c

Hello. When translating pypy 1.5 under Gentoo linux I get binary with executable permission for the stack (so that execute prevention will not be enabled for it). Then if I make a gentoo package for I get annoying notice about it during installation. After some inspection I've found that the problem comes from gcmaptable.s which doesn't have the line '.section .note.GNU-stack,"",@progbits'. Hello. We're working on a tracing JIT for PHP using PyPy (https://bitbucket.org/asuhan/happy). It's still in its infancy, but it has a bunch of features already in place and beats Zend & HipHop by a large margin in some microbenchmarks -- sieve (and other arithmetical stuff) and lots of tests based on PHPbench. PyPy and GeoDjango

Seeing that there's a postgresql adapter written for PyPy [1], I decided to do a test-drive on a pet Django project. Had I not used GeoDjango, it would have probably worked right away. I didn't need to change much: Django's PostGIS database adapter uses a psycopg extension, psycopg2.extensions.ISQLQuote, which doesn't really provide anything useful. Functions `.__module__` attribute

Hey, It seems that in CPython a function gets a `.__module__` attribute according to the current value of `__name__` when the function is being defined. In Pypy this seems not to be working, since I changed `__name__` in globals (as part of a test) but it still didn't change the function's `.__module__`. Is this a deficiency in Pypy? -- Sincerely, Ram Rachum

Hello, On the IRC channel arigato showed me how to set the size of Pypy's nursery for testing. But I forgot and I couldn't find it on Google. Is there a page containing all the Pypy constants? If not, what's the constant for Pypy's nursery size? Thanks, Ram.
