Suggestions for small projects for getting started hacking on pypy?

Hello, I'm interested in getting my feet wet hacking on pypy. I've successfully bootstrapped pypy from source, using the documentation on doc.pypy.org. What small projects are open right now that I could use to get started learning about the code? Thanks, Christian

Question about "Completing 'os' module" (issue 833)

Hi all, I noticed the 'os' module is incomplete, and I'd like to help complete this. CPython does this by simply having these methods available on "posix" "nt" "os2" etc. and the "os" module imports those. It appears that PyPy does the same thing. I was able to successfully add 'getlogin' as practice, but I wanted to post here before going further. Some questions below: 1.) Policy on Python 3 and Python 2 executable names

I brought up adding "pypy2" on #pypy in March, but the conversation quickly died. CPython ran into the no-policy problem when Arch Linux decided to switch /usr/bin/python to be Python 3. Hacking at tarfile.py and gzip.py

Hi Justin, I see that you're hacking at CPython's tarfile.py and gzip.py, for performance reason. I should warn you that it's probably a bad idea. For example, when we moved from supporting 2.5 to 2.7, we didn't manually convert all the stuff in modified-2.5; we just mostly ignored it and took the few still-relevant changes (the rest was fixed in CPython itself in the meantime). Hello Guys, You should have heard that we are holding PyCon UK 2011 on 24th-25th September 2011 at Coventry, UK (about 25km from Birmingham where we held EP2009/EP2010). so that it doesn't automatically bounce mail from non-subscribers but instead holds them? Now that we are on python.org we won't drown in spam as python.org is most excellent at catching it before it reaches the mailing list. If you make me a list admin, I promise to do all the work in approving things. We just missed a nice note from John Pinner who wants somebody to come talk at PyCON UK. Laura
