I am interested in improvements in PyPy-STM as a GSoC project. I have discussed some ideas with Remi, and put them down here in https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZXORu2qgX6EixCWTb--HRMIFYauoWtJIGKkTlFi8DuY/edit.

It would be great if you could comment here giving your suggestions regarding the same. Also, I am unsure about how to make vmprof work with this STM, and what is the complexity involved in that. Anyone can give suggestions about the same?
