PyPy/NumPyPy sprint(s) in Leipzig, Germany?
Hi, I am just wondering if anybody is interested in sprinting on PyPy and in particular NumPyPy in Leipzig sometime in 2012. I can offer working space for up to 12 people with Wi-Fi as well as some basic catering (hot and cold drinks, snacks, pizza etc.) for a few days (up to a week). Accommodation in Leipzig is very reasonably priced. For example, there is a decent hotel very close to the venue for 35 Euros/night (single) or 50 Euros/night (double) including breakfast. Being a logistics center, Leipzig is easy to travel to by car, train or airplane including budget airlines. I would also act as co-sponsor (with the resources stated above) for an application for sprint funds (http://pythonsprints.com/cfa/ or other sources) that could cover (parts) of the traveling and accommodation expenses. It is indeed a cool idea. I note that you're interested in a sprint on NumPyPy. So I think that Fijal is the best-placed person to suggest a time, maybe next time he's in Europe. Ok. Let's make it the week before EuroPython then. I think the earlier the announcement it out the higher the chance that people can arrange the dates. Let me know how to proceed from here. I will take full charge of the working space and can help in finding affordable places to stay. Furthermore, I can help if you would like to apply for funding at the PSF or other organizations. we should also decide whether we want to have a post EP sprint in italy near Genova (possibly again in Pegli, or maybe somewhere else), although there is the risk that having a pre-EP sprint, EP and then another full sprint might become too intensive. What do people think about this?

It's not that great to have EuroPython immediately after the sprint without any day for recuperation. :-/ I would personally prefer it the previous week, for this reason.

as for me, I'm busy in the days around 22-24 of june, and I also would like not to have a sprint immediately before EP. With these constraints, it seems very unlikely that I'll manage to do the sprint :-(

as for me, I'm busy in the days around 22-24 of june, and I also would like not to have a sprint immediately before EP. With these constraints, it seems very unlikely that I'll manage to do the sprint :-(

Well, there is still the extra time. You can also fly from Munich. This could be cheaper than the train. Yes, 5:30 hours for a direct connection is exceedingly long for that distance - Hamburg is about the same time. But if there is serious interest, I'll see if I can make it for the Friday. Stefan
