NumPy 1.23.4 released.

Hi All, On behalf of the NumPy team, I am pleased to announce the release of NumPy 1.23.4. NumPy 1.23.4 is a maintenance release that fixes bugs discovered after the 1.23.3 release and keeps the build infrastructure current. The main improvements are fixes for some annotation corner cases, a fix for a long time *nested_iters* memory leak, and a fix of complex vector dot for very large arrays. The Python versions supported for this release are 3.8-3.11. Wheels can be downloaded from PyPI <https://pypi.org/project/numpy/1.23.4>; source archives, release notes, and wheel hashes are available on Github <https://github.com/numpy/numpy/releases/tag/v1.23.4>. Note that the mypy version needs to be 0.981+ if you test using Python 3.10.7, otherwise the typing tests will fail. *Contributors* A total of 8 people contributed to this release. PyCA cryptography 38.0.2 yanked

Yesterday, PyCA cryptography 38.0.2 was released to PyPI. Today, we yanked the release from PyPI due to regressions in OpenSSL that led the OpenSSL team to withdraw OpenSSL 3.0.6 (which PyCA cryptography's wheels include). We expect to issue a follow up release once the OpenSSL team has released OpenSSL 3.0.7. cryptography includes both high level recipes and low level interfaces to common cryptographic algorithms such as symmetric ciphers, asymmetric algorithms, message digests, X509, key derivation functions, and much more. We support Python 3.6+, and PyPy3. Alex -- All that is necessary for evil to succeed is for good people to do nothing.

It is sometimes described as the Brazil nut effect when the largest particles end up on the surface of a granular material containing a mixture of variously sized objects; this derives from the example of a typical container of mixed nuts, where the largest will be Brazil nuts. The phenomenon is also known as the muesli effect since it is seen in packets of breakfast cereal containing particles of different sizes but similar densities, such as muesli mix. Great move: - PyPI has wrongfully classified project ``Cheetah3`` as "critical". This puts a burden to use 2FA to manage the project at PyPI. To avoid the burden the project is renamed to ``CT3`` at PyPI. There will be no updates for ``Cheetah3``. Sorry for the inconvenience! Minor features: - Use relative imports everywhere. Tests: - Run pure-python ``NameMapper`` tests in a separate process. - Fixed a bug in tests with pure-python ``NameMapper``. - Add Python 3.10 to ``tox.ini``. CI: - Migrated to GitHub Actions. Due to the absent of Python 3.4 at GH Actions tests are not run and wheels are not built. Installation from sources should work. Due to GH Actions lacking old compilers for w32/w64 releases for old Python versions (currently 2.7) are packaged without compiled _namemapper.pyd extension. Cheetah can be used without compiled _namemapper.pyd extension. This might be a bit niche, but after using it privately for a couple of years, i've made a first release of Walk, a Python module that provides a mechanism for running commands, where commands are not run if Walk can infer that they would not change any generated files. * An LD_PRELOAD library or syscall tracing is used to detect what files a command reads and/or writes. * Tested and used on Linux and OpenBSD. * Also provided is an example Python script walkbuild/walkfg.py which uses Walk to work as a build system for the Flightgear open-source flight simulator.
