I have uploaded a revised version of pydocs.tar.gz at "http://members.tripod.com/~edcjones/pycode.html". pydocs is a pair of pure Python programs: "pydocsdata.py" which strips the html from the Python documentation and "pydoc_search.py" which searches the documentation.
