The package salabim is based on the process description methodology in which processes can be activated, held and passivated.The package supports queues, resources and a very powerful concept of states, which behave a little bit like events. Statistical data collection on queues, resources and states is automatically enabled. The collected data can be shown with matplotlib or exported to R. Animation, which runs parallel to the simulation is one of the most important features of salabim.
