The Python Checkbook Manager (aka pycheckbook) is now available from http://pycheckbook.sourceforge.net. Version 0.5 adds support for GTK+ widgets in addition to the Tk widgets. Pycheckbook is a minimalist checkbook manager. Quicken and GnuCash offer more features, but pycheckbook is only ~1300 lines of code, and thus is much easier to understand, hack, customize, etc. Pycheckbook should run on any host that runs Python and either Tkinter or PyGTK.
