[RELEASE] Python 3.11.0 RC2 is blocked
Hi everyone,
Today was the scheduled release of Python 3.11.0 RC2 but unfortunately, we have a bunch of release blockers. Here are some of them:
https://github.com/python/cpython/issues/96569 https://github.com/python/cpython/issues/96559 https://github.com/python/cpython/issues/96572 https://github.com/python/cpython/issues/96046 https://github.com/python/cpython/issues/95027
Here is the current GH query:
https://github.com/python/cpython/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+sort%3Aupdat...
Some of these issues were opened today or yesterday and some others are likely already solved but need someone to confirm that there is nothing left for 3.11. Until these issues are resolved I won't be able to continue with the release of 3.11.0 RC2.
Please, also remember that after 3.11.0 RC2 there should not be **any code changes** (ideally, obviously if something major is discovered we will include it in 3.11.0). So if you have any bugfix or similar that you want to get included in 3.11.0 please let me know ASAP otherwise, it will need to wait for 3.11.1.
Thank you very much for your help!
