The following bit of code defines a dictionary that folds all its keys to lowercase before inserting them, but 'exec "Name = 1" in LowerCaseDict()' doesn't seem to call my __getitem__(), as the listed keys include 'Name'. Fixing send()

I've got a possible patch for the send() problem. I'd like review of the patch and the related issues before I apply it. I'd also like more guidance regarding the suitability of this patch for the 2.1.2 bugfix release. Goals for patch selection for 2.1.2

Hi there, I'm happy enough to be the release manager for 2.1.2 - I've a reasonably high amount of CVS experience, so that shouldn't be a problem. Here's my current thoughts for selecting patches for a 2.1.2 release. Feedback would be appreciated. I plan to post this to python-list and ask people for suggestions for "must have" fixes. With a cvs update, test_email.py fails because the behavior of re.split() has changed, presumably due to /F's latest sre checkins.
