pydoc 1.58 - added repr_str

I just checked in pydoc.py 1.58. The change of type("").__name__ from "string" to "str" between Python 2.1 and 2.2 busted the special method lookup in pydoc.HTMLRepr and pydoc.TextRepr. This belongs in 2.2.1. SF seems at least mildly busted at the moment. I wasn't able to search for bugs containing "pydoc". I didn't bother filing a bug report. Skip

hotshot docs?

do they exist? I haven't found anything in the CVS tree, and I'm finding the docstrings and source not overly illuminating. missing a lightning talk

There was a lightning talk at IPC10 about a cataloging server that would talk to multiple installation tools (ciphon, ActiveState, etc). The name of the tool escapes me and I don't recall the author's name. His talk was near the end. I didn't see it mentioned on the lightning talks page: http://www.python.org/workshops/2002-02/lightning.html Does anyone recall who and what I'm referring to? datetime +/- scalars (int, long, float)?

Would it be good to allow adding/subtracting scalars (int, long, float) to/from date/times? The scalar value would be # of seconds. So: dt = datetime() # some date/time dt + 5 # would add 5 seconds dt + 5.3 # would add 5 seconds 300000 usecs If so, attached is a patch.
