test_subprocess failing

test_subprocess failed in Neal's regression test overnight. My guess for the culprit would be Christian's checkin on Friday: r62386 | christian.heimes | 2008-04-18 21:23:57 -0500 (Fri, 18 Apr 2008) | 2 lines Added kill, terminate and send_signal to subprocess.Popen. The bits and pieces for the Windows side were already in place. The POSIX side is trivial (as usual) and uses os.kill(). Skip

Interface to change Py3kWarning in Python

I currently have a patch to make it possible to change py3k warnings in Python through new functions in sys: issue 2458. I realize the functions are rather ugly, but I don't think there is another practical way to do it unless you want to be writing PySys_GetObject and checking it for NULL whenever you add a Py3k warning. -- Cheers, Benjamin Peterson

Hi, My Code: mapi.MAPIInitialize(None) session = mapi.MAPILogonEx(0, MAPIProfile, None, mapi.MAPI_EXTENDED | mapi.MAPI_USE_DEFAULT) I am trying to send a mail using the extended MAPI interface, I am new to work with MAPI. I am trying to execute your code,i getting the following exception, and a popup message of Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fullfill the messaging request,please run Microsoftoffice outlookand set it as the defaukt mail client. I am using thunderbird as my default mail client , then i set my outlook as my default mail client.its running fine. can u tell me is there possiblites to run the code with out changing the default mail client to Ms Outlook. if could u find me a solution,that'd really helpfull. Global Python Sprint Weekends: May 10th-11th and June 21st-22nd.

Following on from the success of previous sprint/bugfix weekends and sprinting efforts at PyCon 2008, I'd like to propose the next two Global Python Sprint Weekends take place on the following dates: * May 10th-11th (four days after 2.6a3 and 3.0a5 are released) * June 21st-22nd (~week before 2.6b2 and 3.0b2 are released) It seems there are a few of the Python User Groups keen on meeting up in person and sprinting collaboratively, akin to PyCon, which I highly recommend. I'd like to nominate Saturday across the board as the day for PUGs to meet up in person, with Sunday geared more towards an online collaboration day via IRC, where we can take care of all the little things that got in our way of coding on Saturday (like finalising/preparing/reviewing patches, updating tracker and documentation, writing tests ;-). For User Groups that are planning on meeting up to collaborate, please reply to this thread on python-dev(a)python.org and let every- one know your intentions! As is commonly the case, #python-dev on irc.freenode.net will be the place to be over the course of each sprint weekend; a large proportion of Python developers with commit access will be present, increasing the amount of eyes available to review and apply patches. For those that have an idea on areas they'd like to sprint on and want to look for other developers to rope in (or just to communicate plans in advance), please also feel free to jump on this thread via python-dev@ and indicate your intentions. For those that haven't the foggiest on what to work on, but would like to contribute, the bugs tracker at http://bugs.python.org is the best place to start. Register an account and start searching for issues that you'd be able to lend a hand with. All contributors that submit code patches or documentation updates will typically get listed in Misc/ACKS.txt; come September when the final release of 2.6 and 3.0 come about, you'll be able to point at the tarball or .msi and exclaim loudly ``I helped build that!'', and actually back it up with hard evidence ;-) Bring on the pizza and Red Bull! string representation of range in 3.0

Hi, I use Python in my CS1 and CS2 curriculum and I have a question. As I've been using the Python 3.0 alphas one of the things that I am bothered by is that I cannot see the sequence produced by range without introducing students to the list() function. I typically introduce range on day 1 of class and show students what it produces without making a big deal out of the fact that it creates a list. They all accept this and things work out nicely when I introduce lists for real in a week or two. My question is why couldn't the __str__ method for the range object be more friendly and show a representation of the sequence? I understand why __repr__ should return range(0,10) for an object created using range(10) but couldn't print(range(10)) produce [0, 1, 2, ... 9] The ... could even be used if the sequence were excessively wrong. If this is acceptable, I would be happy to accept the challenge of providing a patch. Thanks, Brad

This is the value which is returned on unix like platforms for a successful call. The documentation for mmap.flush does not even mention a return value. so, still: sorry no, the application should not just look at the result being returned.
