Hi, I'm trying to use the import hook in Python2.6, but I'm having a problem. It doesn't work for numpy. Hi All, My desktop application opens web page from tomcat/apache server in button click event (MySQL database by using JSP/Servlets on internet from user machine). Here, I found some delay in opening web pages. Is there any advantages with Python over JSP/Servlets? I am new to web programming. Please provide any inputs on Python over jsp/servlets. making socket.getaddrinfo use cached dns

I use cached dns lookups with pdnsd on my ubuntu machine to speed up web access as regular lookups can take 15-30 seconds. However, python's mechanize and urllib etc use socket.getaddrinfo, which seems not to be using dns cacheing or taking a long time because of ipv6 lookups. In either case, I subsequent access to the same site to be fast and not require lengthy calls to getaddrinfo. Would it make sense to not propagate the signal in one case (e.g. SIGUSR1), i.e. just display the traceback in this case? PEP 3151 implementation

Hello, Just a quick note that I have a working PEP 3151 implementation at http://hg.python.org/features/pep-3151/, in named branch "pep-3151". The implementation is (should be) complete on the feature side, so you can play with it right now. It still lacks a deprecation mechanism for old names.
