Does "importing from zip archives" really need a PEP? It's already quasi-official in that Jython and MacPython implement it.
Personally, I think so, a PEP would be indeed a good thing, mostly to fix the details. AFAIK MacPython and Jython are already different about the details, at least in Jython the feature is still experimental so there is space for changes, don't know in general.
