It has been discussed a few months ago. There is the "if six.PY3: ..."
issue and similar issues which should be solved first. Basic example:

$ python3
Python 3.7.5 (default, Oct 17 2019, 12:16:48)
>>> import sys
>>> sys.version_info = (4,0)
>>> import six
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
  File "/usr/lib/python3.7/site-packages/six.py", line 49, in <module>
    string_types = basestring,
NameError: name 'basestring' is not defined
