Unfortunately, it's pretty obscure if the patch is added to the bug report. However, if a separate patch is added, it is likely to be seen/fixed sooner rather than later.
I would also suggest that people indicate such patches in the title, e.g. "Fix for #foobar". I usually give such titles high priority, because it would allow to close two things simultaneously. Regards, Martin
