Which doesn't make it a good idea. +1 on adding longer top-level package names as aliases for existing shorter top-level package names.
Which existing short names do you have in mind? os? xml? email? Let's not get excited over names here. I say: let the RM or the BDFL, whoever feels responsible to pronounce whether PySQLite actually gets in, decide which name it will have. Georg
