I've just noticed Modules/rotatingtree.{h,c}, which don't seem to be used anywhere. Are they just dead code? If so, is there a reason they haven't been removed?
grep -R rotatingtree ; grep -R _lsprof rotatingtree is used by the _lsprof module which is the internal implementation behind cProfile. -gps
