Marking a method M declared in C with abstractmethod indicates that M needs to be *implemented* in any subclass D of C for D to be instantiated. We usually think of overriding a method N to mean replacing one implementation in some class E with another in some subclass of E, F. __first__ method

I have an idea for a new special method in a class called __first__(). The main purpose of it would be to setup somethings a class needs to run before it is first initiated, probably only really in modules because in your code you could simply put this setup stuff before the class however if you are calling something like 'from foo import Bar', where Bar is a class and Bar needs some specific imports you would need something to run the first time Bar is initiated. However, it seems to me that joining is still, when possible, the cleanest way to code string assembly. Sometimes I see threads briefly go into topics that are unrelated to new features in Python. For example: talking about a writer’s use of “inhomogeneous” vs “heterogenous” vs “anhomogenous.” We get what the original author meant, there is no need to fiddle with the little details of language at this point, even if it is fun. https://www.python.org/download/alternatives/ should possibly mention: - Cython and Nuitka - Mention the possibility of compiling Python to WASM - WASM allows Web and Mobile use of Python at possibly native speed. Though not mature yet, Pyodide is a working implementation.

I want y’all to think about this very carefully. What factors led Guido to quit? And I don’t want you to just reply with the first thing that comes off your head. The purpose of this question/discussion is to identify problems with the Python community so we can fix them. That is the only real chance of having a successful Python language that doesn’t get left behind by other languages, or of getting Guido to come back.

AMEND PEP-8 TO DISCOURAGE ALL CAPS

I keep coming back to this great video <https://vimeo.com/74316116> about coding style, and one point in particular rings true to me: ALL_CAPS_IS_OBNOXIOUS It destroys the visual flow of code and for what? To signify a global, constant, or Enum? Is that really so important? I don't think so. I think the all caps style has out-lived its usefulness and needs to go the way of the dodo.
