People are beginners for what, maybe 2 or 5% of their career as programmers? The minor benefit they get at their beginning of their career from reading "load_from_string" instead of "loads" is outweighed twenty times over by the cost of having to read "load_from_string" instead of "loads" for the rest of their career.
There's a reason why fluent English speakers prefer short words like "car" or "bus" over long words like "automobile" and "omnibus". (German speakers may disagree.)
