absolutely! I really, really thought it did!!!! (I'm amazed I never heard from a single student getting bit by that...)
I normally use "pip2" and "pip3", but those aren't available everywhere, and may be hard to support properly.
there can be multiple python2 or 3s too...
at least with:
python? -m pip install
you will get the pip that matches the python you use...
with ensurepip, having pip no installed in a python is getting less common, so maybe this isn't needed anymore, but....
