Isn't pip installed by default on Windows and OSX? On Linux some distribution will probably do something unexpected and mess up your grand plan.
Some installers download pip, which won't work if you don't have an internet connection or a proxy setup. But my point is, all this should be unified. All the points I mentioned worked in a A and B but not C, or a combination of those, different for each point. This is very unfortunate to write docs, tutorials, or any teaching material.
