Hello, has anyone successfully used multithreading or multiprocessing with Python.Net? I tried to multi-thread from the .Net side and the Python.Net libraries seem to have issues in the RunScript method. I had to take an implementation off the web of that method because the shipped method doesn’t seem to work. I then had a working multi-processing example from CPython that I tried from Python.Net but it gives an error 'module' object has no attribute 'argv' When trying to create a process pool by executing the line pool = Pool(processes=4) Is it possible to do multithreading or multiprocessing with Python.Net? PythonNet on Cygwin

Hi Guys, I was wondering if anyone knows how to make Python for .Net work on cygwin installation of python. I have been looking around and find a mixed bag of information. If anyone knows of the working version of Python for .Net and its dependency, I would appreciate if you could share it with me. Currently, I am using a generic windows version and it works just fine, but I need it to work on Cygwin version of python. I appreciate any helpful replies. Thanks, Nikhil

cx_freeze and python.net

Hello everybody, I'm trying to build a python.net application using cx-freeze . Once the application is built, I put in my final folder the Python.Runtime.dll. but it stil doesn't seem to work . Actually, when I run the .exe file, nothing is happening. So, I wonder if there were something else to do, another dll to put in the folder, or any option to use with cx_freeze when building the application ? i would be very grateful if you could help me on this matter .. Hello, Is there a design reason that pythonnet loads C# assemblies into its own AppDomain rather than establishing a separate AppDomain? It would be useful for instance when developing in C# in parallel with writing python code (say, in the ipython REPL) to be able to reload C# assemblies dynamically. Also, we've found it useful in Initialize() to enable shadow copying, to prevent file locking, ie internal static void Initialize() { ... AppDomain domain = AppDomain.CurrentDomain; // prevent file locking domain.SetShadowCopyFiles(); domain.SetShadowCopyPath(null); Although these are deprecated methods, and really it should be establishing a new AppDomain as above. Debugging CPYTHON embedded in .NET

Dear users and developers of PythonNET: How do you debug CPython embedded in . NET? Did you find any reliable way to do this with IDE such as PTVS or Pycharm? PTVS offers mixed-mode and remote debugging, none of which seem to be usable with PythonNET. Thanks, Denis

pythonnet 2.0.0 released

Hi, I've finally gotten round to finishing off the last couple of things that were blocking an 'official' 2.0.0 release (to do with packaging as wheels/source dist). There is now a 2.0.0 release available on PyPI ( https://pypi.python.org/pypi/pythonnet), with binary wheels for Windows (32 and 64 bit) and a source distribution for Linux and Mac. The next task will be to integrate the changes from the renshawbay/pythonnet fork to add Python 3 support. cheers, Tony

Build guide for Python.NET using Mono on Linux?

I'm very unfamiliar with Mono & C#. Is there a guide or instructions anywhere for building using Mono on Linux? I'm using Anaconda64 on Ubuntu with Mono 4.0.12 If I try to build the whole solution in Mono (same results with 2.0, master & develop zips from Github) I get 2 errors: Error CS1566: Error reading resource file `/home/mj-ubuntu/Public/pythonnet-develop/src/console/$(PythonBuildDir)/Python.Runtime.dll' (CS1566) (Console) /home/mj-ubuntu/Public/pythonnet-develop/src/clrmodule/ClrModule.cs(6,6): Error CS0246: The type or namespace name `RGiesecke' could not be found. Are you missing an assembly reference? (CS0246) (clrmodule) Any thoughts/suggestions/ideas?

Infinity Handling

It seems that there's no way to pass an infinity from Python to C#? Is that correct, or am I missing something? In case the former is correct I've filed an enhancement request issue on github: https://github.com/pythonnet/pythonnet/issues/100 Thanks, Dave

keyword arguments

It doesn't look like it's supported to instantiate a C# class from Python using keyword arguments? Is that the case or am I missing something. If it's not supported would it theoretically be possible and if so how difficult would it be to implement? Thanks, Dave

It is possible to build pythonnet on python 3.4 with visual studio 2015?

Hi to all, The question is in object: can I use python for .net on python 3.4, windows 10 and visual studio 2015? I tried to build solution with vs 2015, no errors when compiling. But, by starting NPython.exe it seems to look at python27.dll instead of python34.dll. I used 2to3 script in pythonnet folder before trying to compile with vs2015. Now, there is any way to use it with python 3.4? Thanks!
