One suggestion I have is that we should encourage users to work in pairs, rather than alone. I think that will make it much more social than otherwise. Apparently last month’s scikit-learn online sprint worked like this and was a resounding success (>50 PRs merged in total). Preferentially, new contributors should be paired with existing ones. In sklearn they did this ahead of time, which we can’t do now, but we should still give it a try. =)
