Dropping 32-bit support
Hi all, Our 32-bit builds are failing [1], seemingly because matplotlib has stopped shipping 32-bit wheels. We could put in effort into maintaining 32-bit compatibility, but in my opinion (and Stéfan's, I've just confirmed), that effort is better spent elsewhere, as we are having enough trouble keeping up with issues and PRs as it is. In other words, there are bugs and API issues out there affecting many more people than 32-bit support. I'll also note that conda-forge has also stopped building for 32-bit architectures. If someone cares about 32-bit wheels enough to pledge ongoing maintenance, now is your chance to speak up! Otherwise, we will drop 32-bit from our builds in the coming weeks. Thanks, everyone! Juan. Hey everyone, just adding: this discussion continued on GitHub [1]. Kind regards, and a nice weekend to y'all, Alex [1] https://github.com/scikit-image/scikit-image/issues/4430 On Mon, 2020-02-10 at 22:30 -0600, Juan Nunez-Iglesias wrote:
