I would release a 0.7.1 to address the renaming and use 0.8 for new features. So, make a feature freeze at the moment - until 0.7.1 is released. Am Dienstag, 9. Oktober 2012 09:27:22 UTC+2 schrieb Stefan van der Walt:

That said, I'm inclined to merge PR #351 and PR #360.
PR #351 looks good to me.
Are you planning to release both 0.7.1 *and* 0.8? Is there any reason why we shouldn't just point users to 0.8?
Some people will still try to install "scikits-image", which currently gives 0.7--broken on OSX. As such, it would be nice to at least have a working 0.7.

I'll create a 0.7.x branch, port those changes, and make one more release of scikits-image. Then I'll change the package name and release 0.7.2 as scikit-image (without the s). That way we have a clear distinction between the two. The next feature release, in about a month or two, will then be 0.8.0. Thanks! Stéfan
