If I may be so bold, it seems to me that what you might want is your own object which maintains parallel arrays of values and "mask reasons," if you will, and generates a mask array accordingly

They install evry time for me, but currently not to the main Python include directory. I'm not sure I like having the headers not installed to the Python include directory. It will be harder for people to use scipy_core as a replacement to Numeric if they have to re-write their setup.py scripts to find the headers. The Python include directory is included by default. Is it as easy for people to just use the setup from scipy.disutils? -Travis

Always including lapack_lite and blas_lite in sdist
by Travis Oliphant Oct. 2, 2005

Oct. 2, 2005

Eric Firing noticed a problem with the newcore setup.py script in that the blas_lite and lapack_lite files are missing. This is because, on my system, I used blas and so didn't compile those. I'm wondering how we can detect in the setup.py file that an sdist command has been issued and so include the blas_lite and lapack_lite files even if somebody has atlas installed. Does somebody know how to tell what command was run when we are inside a configuration? -Travis
