Thought I'd drop my name here, too. I'm Marty Fuhry and I was also accepted to work on NumPy for the Google Summer of Code. I'm a sophomore studying Mathematics and Computer Science at Kent State University in Ohio. My project to implement a Date / Time type for NumPy. There will be two temporal types for both relative and absolute dates. I'll be looking into the Date class from the scikits.timeseries package to plug into my project. I'll also be keeping a blog of my progress at www.fuhrysoc.blogspot.com. Looking forward to an exciting summer! On Mon, Apr 27, 2009 at 9:42 AM, David Huard <david.huard@gmail.com> wrote:
Congratulations to you both,
Having GSoC participants work full time on SciPy is really motivating for occasional contributors such as myself.
Have a great time,
David

I will be working on providing a consistent user interface and development framework for statistical models in SciPy. At the request of GSoC I will be maintaining a blog about the project, you can learn more and follow the progress of my work at <http://scipystats.blogspot.com>.
That's great -- I hope to see Jonathan's package make its return! Please ask Jarrod to add you to planets.scipy.org, the SciPy blog aggregator.
