Hello, folks As part of the work to engage, support and onboard new contributors (and possibly, new maintainers in the future!), I'd like to propose monthly Newcomers Meetings. These are office-hours style meetings, where people can ask questions and talk about possible ways to contribute to SciPy. We have been doing this for a while at NumPy, and matplotlib is also setting these up for the near future. These are of course optional for maintainers, although it would be nice to have at least one maintainer every time to guide new contributors if there are specific questions. I have created a poll to check for possible times for the first one. We can certainly also use the same idea that we do for the community meetings, alternating timezones so more people can join. Please respond here with your availability if you are interested in participating, even occasionally: https://www.when2meet.com/?15568665-BaWJI For more context, you can see here a few examples of past meetings from the NumPy community: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCK6zCrcN3GVoYEhrn3pS8wUxifnMax5Q Let me know if you have questions or suggestions. Cheers! Melissa
