Hi all, could anyone explain in some words what is mentioned here in the Python mail list message and related links? Is the google initiative some kind of GSoC equivalent? Has it any finance support? I would read it by myself but there are too much difficult English text. http://groups.google.com/group/comp.lang.python.announce/browse_thread/threa... Regards, D.
Hi, It has financial support, but it is aimed to young developers (before they go to university). It is thus simple tasks (rewrite documentation, add some tests, ...) so that they can have a feeling at Open Source software. Matthieu 2007/12/25, dmitrey <dmitrey.kroshko@scipy.org>:

Short answer: the program is only for students who have not started university studies, so I do not believe that you are eligible. http://code.google.com/opensource/ghop/2007-8/ It is not really like GSoC. It is a contest where you *might* win prizes; you do not get steady financial support. -- Robert Kern "I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth." -- Umberto Eco
