GSOC project discussion on improving datasource and its integration.

I am masters students in data engineering and interested in contributing to scipy. I need some directions to how to start with it. I know python and have worked on projects including data mining , web mining and web crawlers etc. I want to contribute to scipy by improving datasource and its integrations like handling malformed URLs, proxy settings , other file extensions support. http://projects.scipy.org/scipy/wiki/SummerofCodeIdeas http://projects.scipy.org/scipy/numpy/browser/trunk/numpy/lib/_datasource.py Thank You.

Yes. We know. We have seen your previous messages and some people have responded. Please go back to those threads and respond to those responses. Please do not post another introduction like this again. We appreciate your interest and enthusiasm, but we would also appreciate some improvement with how you communicate with the list. -- Robert Kern "I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth." -- Umberto Eco

I am extremely sorry for inconvenience caused. I am subscribed to the list but i am not receiving any replies, mails etc from this list. That's why i sent it twice. Thank You. Best Regards, Mohit Goyal. On Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 9:15 PM, Robert Kern <robert.kern@gmail.com> wrote:

This mailing list, like most others of its form, has an archive. This page has your original thread and the replies: http://mail.scipy.org/pipermail/scipy-dev/2010-February/thread.html Or, to go straight to your original post: http://mail.scipy.org/pipermail/scipy-dev/2010-February/013874.html You can click through the replies there. Finally, there's a few scipy mailing lists, so it's possible you're subscribed to a different one than you sent this to: http://www.scipy.org/Mailing_Lists Hope that helps. - Sean On Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 9:22 AM, Mohit Goyal <mohitiiit@gmail.com> wrote:

Hello Mohit, I'm the "IT-Guy" over here at Enthought, where these lists are hosted. In order to make sure we didn't have something breaking on our end that might be keeping you from getting emails from the list, I reviewed our logs and reconciled them with the list archives. All of your emails to the lists from the 17th up to today were sent from "mohitiiit", and all replies to those emails were sent on the same day, and to that same address. Your first and only email from "mohitiit4u" was sent today to scipy-dev. You did receive Robert's reply to "mohitiiit4u", to which you replied. But, your reply came from "mohitiiit". I see you are now subscribed to scipy-dev with both of your addresses. Perhaps you are expecting the emails to be arriving at "mohitiiit4u"? I hope this helps resolve any issues you're having with the lists. Let me know if I can assist you any further. Thanks, -- Aaron River ariver@enthought.com On Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 11:22, Mohit Goyal <mohitiiit@gmail.com> wrote:
