I am a masters student doing research in data engineering. I know python and have done projects on data mining and web mining. I want to contribute to scipy via gsoc 2010. I am interested in working on data related projects in scipy like improving data sources and integrate it into all the numpy/scipy , adding data sets and examples to scipy, data analysis etc. Please tell me how to proceed.

I wonder if he realizes that replies will go to the list and he has to stay subscribed to get them? David

No, only signing up is required, subscription is not necessary to mail to the list from other places, e.g. google groups interface or ... But in these mailing list interfaces it's also possible/obvious to see the messages. Josef
