SciPy Community Meetups are back!
Hi everyone, I would like to propose regular SciPy Community meetings again! https://doodle.com/poll/fd62d6755texie5s <https://doodle.com/poll/fd62d6755texie5s> For this first meeting, it would be good if as many people as possible could join as we would decide things like frequency of such meeting. Everyone is invited and encouraged to join in and edit the work-in-progress meeting topics and notes at: https://hackmd.io/@tupui/scipy-meetup/edit <https://hackmd.io/@tupui/scipy-meetup/edit> Cheers, Pamphile PS. share the news: https://twitter.com/PamphileRoy/status/1388067651721830401?s=20 <https://twitter.com/PamphileRoy/status/1388067651721830401?s=20>
I went to the links to sign up / show interest but I am embarrassed that I couldn't find a place to do that Any specific suggestions would be appreciated From: SciPy-Dev <scipy-dev-bounces+rlucente=pipeline.com@python.org> On Behalf Of Pamphile Roy Sent: Friday, April 30, 2021 5:49 AM To: SciPy Developers List <scipy-dev@python.org> Subject: [SciPy-Dev] SciPy Community Meetups are back! Hi, If you are talking about HackMD, you need to click on sign-in (top right end corner). You will see options to sign in with various options like using your GitHub profile, and at the bottom of the popup there is a sign up. For Doodle there should be nothing to do. Just enter your name and vote. Thanks for your interest Cheers, Pamphile

I am not sure if we can solve this. From the table below, the only solution I could see would be 6 or 7a.m. CET. I can add other times or I could propose that we rotate the time from one meeting to the other (might be the most reasonable). Cheers, Pamphile

One unfortunate thing with the recording is that I had my screen in "gallery view" so we could capture all ~15 participants, but Zoom decided to record only the talking person each time. Which is a little unfortunate, especially since we started recording only after the round of introductions. I'll try to figure out how to improve that for next time. Hi everyone,
I would like to propose regular SciPy Community meetings again!

For this first meeting, it would be good if as many people as possible could join as we would decide things like frequency of such meeting.
Everyone is invited and encouraged to join in and edit the work-in-progress meeting topics and notes at:

Hi everyone, Just a friendly reminder to indicate your preferences for the time and date of the next meetups. Also, feel free to comment and suggest topics to discuss. Cheers, Pamphile

Thanks everyone for today’s meetup. It was nice to finally meet you all and I found it quite productive!
Thank you Matt for taking notes during the meeting (same link): https://hackmd.io/@tupui/scipy-meetup/edit <https://hackmd.io/@tupui/scipy-meetup/edit> For those of you who could not join, we also recorded the session (thank you Ralf) and we will see to make it available.
We proposed to have regular meetups every 2 weeks and change the time zone every meetup (EU/Africa/Americas and Pacific/Asia/EU). So that anyone could join once a month. The first thing to decide, in these respective meetings, would be to pick a day and time not to have to do a pool all the time.
Until then, the proposed new meetups dates would be
Pacific/Asia/EU: https://doodle.com/poll/tmnenfc9c9v6c42z <https://doodle.com/poll/tmnenfc9c9v6c42z> EU/Africa/Americas: https://doodle.com/poll/9cse6mt58cp9d6px <https://doodle.com/poll/9cse6mt58cp9d6px>
The next meetup notes are here: https://hackmd.io/@tupui/scipy-meetup-2/edit <https://hackmd.io/@tupui/scipy-meetup-2/edit>
Thank you for your help and participation. And if there is any question or issue, feel free to drop me a line.
Cheers, Pamphile

Hi everyone,
First of all, thank you for your participation to the pool!
You have been the most to vote for May 17th at 16 CET.
Please feel free to contribute to the agenda:

In case you cannot join us, I am thinking about recording this event. Of course, before any recording starts, we will discuss about it.
I will see you there, and I am looking forward to finally meet you all. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me =)

I am not sure if we can solve this. From the table below, the only solution I could see would be 6 or 7a.m. CET.
I can add other times or I could propose that we rotate the time from one meeting to the other (might be the most reasonable).
