Create and document user journey maps and personas for NumPy: GSoD' 22
Hi folks, I'm very interested in contributing to Create and document user journey maps and personas for NumPy project[1] through GSoD 2022. Should I share the timeline, what should be my next steps? Some information about my work is available here[2]. Looking forward to your response. [1] https://github.com/scipy/scipy/wiki/Google-Season-of-Docs-2022---SciPy-Proje... Hello, Tapasweni Thanks for reaching out. While the accepted organizations for Google Season of Docs are not yet announced, you are welcome to start going through the documentation and building up your statement of interest. If you have specific questions about GSoD, please reach out to numpy-scipy-gsod @googlegroups.com. If you just want to start contributing, feel free to browse our issue tracker - there are many issues tagged Documentation that you can start working on right away. SciPy also holds bi-weekly community meetings and you are welcome to join too - please check out our calendar at https://scientific-python.org/calendars (our next meeting is this Wednesday, April 13, at 8pm UTC). Welcome! - Melissa On Thu, Apr 7, 2022 at 5:55 PM Tapasweni Pathak <tapaswenipathak@gmail.com> wrote:

Yes. I hope I can add to what is already there https://github.com/scipy/scipy/wiki/Google-Season-of-Docs-2022---SciPy-Proje.... ++numpy-scipy-gsod@googlegroups.com. I have a few small questions, - Would you be having any preferred format for the timeline/planner/proposal? - Would it be ok and work with maintainers or included folks to have daily deliverables (production-ready or testable) within the timeline? - Do you suggest any specific patch(es) to take up right now or to be put in the timeline/planner/proposal? I'm sure there would be a bunch of patches from me in both the projects (code, doc, non-code.

Hello, Tapasweni I'll answer here for the benefit of others as well: There is a template for the Google Season of Docs Statement of Interest for technical writers: https://developers.google.com/season-of-docs/docs/tech-writer-statement Other than that template, there are no specific requirements on our part. The timeline is flexible, but personally, I don't really see how these would be daily - this project is more about high-level planning and (as mentioned in the project) we don't really anticipate any specific issues from our GitHub issue tracker to be addressed right away.
